The Truth Is Out There: LEGO Ideas Unveils The X-Files Set 21369

LEGO Ideas has beamed down its latest fan-designed set: The X-Files (21369), a 1,478-piece build made in collaboration with Disney Entertainment. The design began in 2014 as a personal project by Brisbane-based fan designer Brent Waller, and went on to win the LEGO Ideas '90s Nostalgia Challenge. It's aimed squarely at adult fans, carrying an 18+ age rating.

The set carries a €199.99 price tag and is scheduled for LEGO Insiders early access from 1st August 2026, with general availability from 4th August 2026. At 1,478 pieces, it's a substantial build that combines three distinct scenes into one display piece.

The model stacks a forest clearing and hovering UFO on top of a cutaway recreation of Fox Mulder's FBI office. The saucer sits on a clear stand and can be lifted off to display the woodland alien encounter on its own, separate from the office below.

Mulder's office is packed with nods for fans: a printed "I Want to Believe" poster, an X-Files dossier, scattered sunflower seeds, and pencils stuck in the ceiling tiles. A "The Truth Is Out There" tile is built into the base.

Eight minifigures are included: Fox Mulder, Dana Scully, Walter Skinner, Mr. X, Alex Krycek, Carl Busch, the Flukeman, and a grey alien — enough to stage several of the show's most memorable scenes at once.

Anyone who orders 21369 between 1st and 10th August 2026 also receives The X-Files: Scully's Lab (40896) as a free gift with purchase, while stocks last — a companion build of the FBI Academy classroom lab, complete with its own Scully minifigure.

Like other LEGO Ideas sets, it's built to reward close inspection at every stage — hidden details slot into place as the office, clearing, and saucer come together piece by piece.
