New LEGO Pokémon SMART Play Sets: Everything You Need to Know

LEGO and The Pokémon Company just brought an entire wave of Pokémon to life without a single screen. Since August 1st, 2026, twelve new LEGO® Pokémon™ SMART Play sets have been available on LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores, all built around the new LEGO SMART Brick — bricks packed with sensors that react to how you play through light, sound, motion and sensing.
What makes this wave interesting isn't just the tech, though. Across the twelve sets, LEGO has stitched together a real cross-section of the franchise — Kanto classics like Charmander, Squirtle and Jigglypuff sit alongside the Paldea starters from Scarlet and Violet, with Legendaries and Mythicals like Mewtwo and Mew thrown in for good measure.
Two All-in-One sets include everything you need to get started (a SMART Brick, charger and Tags); the other ten are Compatible sets that plug into that same SMART Brick — buy one All-in-One set, and every set below becomes playable with it. Here's the full lineup.

Between them, these two All-in-One sets are the only real "must-haves" of the wave — everything else is a Compatible set that borrows the SMART Brick from whichever one you own. That's the trick to this whole line: pick a starting point based on budget (€69.99 vs €119.99) and character preference, then treat the other ten sets below as an à la carte expansion pack rather than a full second purchase each time.

Zoom out and the wave reads like a deliberate spread rather than a random drop. Prices run from €14.99 (Jigglypuff Concert) up to €119.99 (Charizard vs. Jolteon), piece counts from 88 up to 831.
The Pokémon selection is spread across generations on purpose — Kanto favorites like Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur sit alongside the newest Paldea starters and two of the franchise's biggest names, Mewtwo and Mew. That spread makes it easy to build a first set for a younger trainer at €15–30, then scale up toward the more display-worthy Umbreon vs. Garchomp or Cubone and Gengar sets for older collectors — all running on the exact same SMART Brick underneath.
All twelve sets have been available since August 1st, 2026 on LEGO.com, in LEGO Stores and at select retailers. LEGO also ran a launch gift-with-purchase: a free Ditto as Squirtle: Movie Night set (40887) with any SMART Play order over €130 while stocks lasted.
